The association is a social and civic organization, not an HOA. We are a group of neighbors interested in socializing and making/keeping our neighborhood great.
There's no obligation attached to your membership but you will get a St. Joseph window cling to show you're a member. You can join events, volunteer or just let your dues support the neighborhood. For businesses, we will highlight your business to our email list and feature you on the website in exchange for your support.
Operational expenses like this website, Zoom subscription, supplies for neighborhood cleanups and other events like National Night Out and the annual holiday party. $10 of each membership goes directly to the 501(c)(3) St. Joseph Foundation for long-term neighborhood improvements and maintenance.
Absolutely not. We do not currently require membership to attend events. However, we hope that if you enjoy the events, you'll consider joining to help support offering a wider variety of events in the future.
You can assist with the spring or fall cleanup, become a block captain with KIB, join a committee or inquire about openings on the board. Or host a social event!
Attend neighborhood events or offer to be a host. We love to see new faces at events! Porch parties are very casual and a good introductory event. There's also the National Night Out picnic, holiday party and a couple other gatherings.
The St. Joseph Historic Neighborhood Foundation is a 501(3)c and welcomes donations throughout the year. The funds are used to invest in neighborhood beautification and maintenance. Contributions over $100 should qualify for tax deductions.
Say hello. Welcome new faces. Keep your front walks clear of snow and debris. Take a turn clearing storm drains and debris out of the streets. We can all do a small part to keep the whole neighborhood safe and clean.
The St. Joseph Historic Neighborhood Foundation is a 501(3)c in Indiana. Charitable gifts are welcome throughout the year and will be put toward future projects to preserve and enhance our neighborhood. The first project was the preservation of our historic brick street on 10th. We'd be happy to discuss any legacy gifts or ideas.
